AFRO-FUSION musician Hwabaraty is flying the Zimbabwean flag high after a standout performance at the Isintu Festival in Birmingham, United Kingdom, last weekend.

The Bulawayo-based artiste, born Japhet Mlauzi, left the crowd buzzing after a fiery set that blended traditional rhythms with modern flair. From the first drumbeat to the final ululation, Hwabaraty had the audience on its feet, singing along and asking for more.

Held in the heart of Birmingham, Isintu Fest is a celebration of African heritage and artistry, drawing performers and fans from across the globe. But it was Hwabaraty’s performance that many are still talking about.

“The energy was electric, and the connection with the audience was unreal. It was more than music—it was storytelling, it was heritage, it was home,” said Hwabaraty.
Festival curator Sisa Senkosi described the event as a deeply moving experience.

“Isintu Fest 2025 was a powerful celebration of culture, connection, and creativity. It was truly moving to witness the artists and attendees embrace our vision with such spirit and passion. I’m deeply thankful to everyone who made this gathering so memorable—we planted seeds of unity that will keep growing,” she said.

Those in attendance described Hwabaraty’s set as “transformative” and “soul-stirring”, with many first-time listeners scrambling to connect with him afterwards.

Organisers and music lovers alike are reportedly lining up to book him for upcoming shows across the UK.
