Preparations for the Unlock Party, hosted by South Africa-based veteran musician DJ Diliza, are in full swing, with the artiste reaffirming that the event will once again serve as a platform to empower underground artistes, particularly those from ekasi.

Now in its sixth edition, the gig, co-founded by Arnold Ngoma aka DJ Cable, Shoen Ndlovu (DJ Fraize) and Mthokozisi Nyoni aka DJ Small, will take place on August 9 in Lobengula West, Bulawayo. The trio hails from the western suburb of Luveve.

Diliza expressed excitement about the event and its role in unearthing talent.

“Preparations are well underway. This edition will have a true kasi feel, amplified by the All Star shoes dress code, which attendees are expected to embrace,” he said.

“The event is now well-known for giving a platform to lesser-known artistes. We expect even more underground talent to showcase their skills and gain traction this year.”

The Unlock Party will feature live performances by Diliza and Fab G Umshanakagogo, with discussions ongoing to bring DJ Fifi and Stokie on board.
“An exciting line-up of DJs and musicians will set the stage alight, including Zetfactor, Sbago, Stout, Kead Wikead, Crazy Dee, Toxic, and TimelessDJ,” Diliza added.

Raised in Gwabalanda, DJ Diliza, best known for his days with the hit-making group Stiff under Kalawa Jazmee, credited the local community’s unwavering support as the driving force behind the event’s success.
