Simisosenkosi Moyo, elder brother to the deceased, said he received a call informing him that Ngwenya had been shot while walking along the road near the mine.

“I received a phone call that my younger brother was shot by the security guard of Francisco Marconatti while he was walking to the shops, and upon arrival I saw the lifeless body of my brother lying on the road,” he said.

Moyo said Ngwenya had been shot three times on the chest — left, right and centre — leaving the family shocked and heartbroken.

Police investigations into the incident are still underway.
