ESIGODINI-based musician Mavusani has praised the government for creating platforms that allow Matabeleland South artistes to showcase their talent on a national stage.
This comes as over 15 artistes from the Matabeleland region performed at the Independence Day gala held in Maphisa, Matabeleland South.
The line-up included Mavusani and The Chimurenga Vocalists, Jeys Marabini, Clement Magwaza, LMG Choir, Zinjaziyamluma, Black Umfolosi, Ndolwane Super Sounds, Indosakusa The Morning Star, Iyasa, Bhadilah, Chase Skuza, Bolamba Culture Birds, Godolude, Ufasimba Home of Arts, as well as surprise acts Mxolisi “Mr Bones” and Mzoe 7.
Speaking on the sidelines of the gala, where he also performed at the Independence Day main celebrations, Mavusani expressed gratitude for what he described as increased inclusion of regional artistes.
“We appreciate the special way of honouring the people of Matabeleland for hosting the 46th celebrations in the Matabeleland South province. This move was a clear sign that His Excellency President Mnangagwa was leaving no one behind,” he said.
“We thank President Mnangagwa for the developmental progress that took place in the province as a result of the celebrations, as we had never seen development of such magnitude,” said Mavusani.
