Sheasham FC player Frank Bushiri reportedly died in a road traffic accident near Regina Mundi High School on Sunday morning.

Reports say the former TelOne FC and Shabane FC player was alone in the vehicle when he lost control of his car and crashed into a tree near Regina Mundi High School, plunging the club and the local football fraternity into mourning.

Preliminary information indicates that Bushiri had allegedly been involved in an earlier incident in which he hit another vehicle from behind before driving off.

He later lost control of his car, which veered off the road and rammed into a tree with such force that both the vehicle and the tree were split into two.

The circumstances surrounding the accident are still being established, and police are expected to release further details as investigations continue.

More details to follow.
