HIGHLANDERS have been dealt a major blow ahead of their Castle Lager Premiership blockbuster against FC Platinum — veteran shot-stopper Ariel Sibanda is out!
Coach Kelvin Kaindu revealed the long-serving keeper picked up a knock in training, ruling him out of Sunday’s high-stakes encounter.
“It’s a minor injury, but he will not be available for Sunday. He has not been training,” Kaindu told B-Metro.
With Sibanda sidelined, Bosso fans will be hoping his absence doesn’t rattle the team as they face the platinum miners.
But it’s not all doom and gloom, defender Andrew Mbeba made a triumphant return in the 2-0 win over Yadah Stars last weekend and is expected to marshal the backline once again.
Kaindu also admitted it’s been a bruising week for the squad.
“We had about seven players suffering knocks, but we are hopeful they will be ready by Sunday,” he said.
The heat is on, and Bosso will need every fit body as they lock horns with one of the league’s most consistent sides!
