Versatile artiste Sipho Mercent Nyathi has dropped his new single, Wrong Turn, which is part of a series of tracks he plans to release throughout the festive season.

Wrong Turn, a term commonly used in Bulawayo and beyond, refers to old trucks often used for transporting quarry, river, and pit sand. The song, produced by Stormza, is accompanied by visuals shot by Brooklyn Films International in the suburbs of Luveve and Gwabalanda.

Speaking to Chronicle Showbiz Online, Sipho Mercent Nyathi explained that the track serves as a tribute to the hustlers of the informal construction sector and aims to inspire others to persist in their efforts.

“Wrong Turn is a social commentary on sand poachers and the vehicles they use, known as ‘Wrong Turn’. The track highlights the determination and hustle of amajida (hard workers) as seen in the visuals, where they are pushing a sand truck that has gotten stuck,” said Nyathi.

“I want to encourage everyone out there who is hustling to never lose hope, as one day their hard work will pay off.”
Nyathi also teased upcoming projects, including Nyama Yembongolo, featuring Umnikazi Wempuphu, set for release on December 15, as well as Isela, coming soon.
