House keys, car keys, and carefully arranged bouquets, Vuyile Qongo, popularly known as “Vuyi Sax”, is bringing it all this Valentine’s Day.

What started off as a love for playing the saxophone has now turned into a platform where others can display their love for their significant others through the talent and romance of Vuyi Sax.

Earlier this week, outside a popular boutique in Bulawayo CBD, a special lady was treated to a romantic experience ahead of Valentine’s Day as her lover asked Vuyi to help him create a moment that she would never easily forget. Likes and comments on Facebook poured in as the special lady was presented with a large self-portrait and the keys to a brand-new white Honda Vezzel AWD.

Vuyi emerged from behind the car and played a cover of the couple’s favourite love song on the saxophone, and continued to do so as the lovely couple embraced and shared tears of joy.

A phone conversation with Vuyi revealed that what people saw on Tuesday was only the beginning. There will be plenty more loved ones being gifted their romantic moments this week as we gear up for Valentine’s Day this Saturday.

Among the dozens of cover requests, “Mamela” by Mi Casa has emerged as the favourite, a song Vuyi says has been most requested in the lead-up to the day of love.
