ZIMBABWE’S Warriors have once again left fans fuming after crashing to a 1-0 defeat against Rwanda, a result that kept them rooted to the bottom of Group C in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Playing at Orlando Stadium in South Africa, the Warriors failed to rise to the occasion, even with no pressure and nothing at stake.
Rwanda’s Gilbert Mugisha struck in the 39th minute, and that was all it took to sink Michael Nees’s men, who have now collected just four points from eight games.
Frustrated fan Timothy Mandizadza didn’t hold back, saying the loss was a bitter pill to swallow.
“It’s very frustrating as fans. Losing to Rwanda is unacceptable. Zimbabwe should be a powerhouse in Africa, but instead, we keep sinking lower and lower,” Mandizadza fumed.
The Warriors’ nightmare qualifying campaign has been littered with poor displays, tactical blunders, and wasted chances, leaving supporters questioning whether there’s a way forward for the once-proud football nation.
As the final whistle blew, the mood among fans was clear — Zimbabwe’s Warriors are quickly becoming Zimbabwe’s worries.
