The ruling Zanu-PF party in Gwanda North constituency has launched the Buyela Ekhaya programme, an initiative aimed at attracting villagers to join the ruling party and become active members in its cell structures.
Cell structures are the ruling party’s grassroots levels, which give the party an idea of how members it has in the villages, wards, districts right up to the national structures.

The Buyela Ekhaya or Come Back Home programme in Gwanda North is being spearheaded by shadow Member of Parliament for the area Cde Lungisani Costa Ncube.
On Monday, 63 members of the opposition joined the ruling party after years of being disillusioned with opposition party politics.
Mrs Ntokozo Mpofu said she decided to join Zanu PF after 15 years in the opposition as she was longer happy witj the direction that leadership of Citizens for Coalition Change (CCC) were taking.

“We (former members of CCC in Gwanda North) have no idea who the leader is and it was pointless to remain a member of a party with no direction or vision.
“I have no regret that I have joined Zanu PF and will encourage other villagers to do the same,” said Mrs Mpofu.

Cde Ncube said Zanu PF has shown beyond a shadow of doubt that it is the only party that can be bring development to all corners of the country.
“The Buyela Ekhaya programme is a platform to spread the word to the villagers of Gwanda North Constituency who are not members of Zanu PF to join the only progressive party in Zimbabwe,” said Cde Ncube.
