‘We must be ruthless’

DYNAMOS skipper Murape Murape said the Glamour Boys should perform like a train that crushes everything in its path in the remaining four games for them to win a third straight championship crown.
Last Sunday, Dynamos reclaimed control of the marathon when they edged Highlanders 1-0 at Barbourfields with Ocean Mushure converting a late penalty.

This weekend, Dynamos are on the road again as they travel to Gibbo where they will meet in-form Triangle in another crucial league match on Sunday.

It will be the first time that the Harare giants will be playing a league game in Triangle after having previously played three Cup matches at the venue.

In 2011 Dynamos beat Hwange 2-0 in a BancABC Sup8r tie at Gibbo before beating Buffaloes 2-0 in the same competition this year.
Dynamos also edged Tripple B 1-0 in the Mbada Diamonds Cup first round match this year, but never have they played the hosts Triangle at Gibbo.

The first meeting between the two teams ended in a goalless draw at Rufaro in the first half of the season.
Murape feels the victory over Bosso was just the tonic needed to get their championship campaign back on the rails.

“We had been struggling to get victories away from Rufaro this season and I think the win over Highlanders was our first one on the road this season (DeMbare beat Tripple B at Mandava).

“So we are happy because of the win and wish we could have played the next game at home but we are away again. There is nothing we can do because that is the way the fixtures were arranged and we need to remain focused.

“Before the game against Highlanders, we were highly motivated because we were playing a side that was sitting at the top of the log but we were very cautious in that sometimes results do not always go your way.

“Some people never gave us a chance against Highlanders but we got a positive result.
“Now we have to put the victory behind us and focus on collecting three points in the next game,” said Murape.

The veteran Dynamos skipper said they should aim to crush everything in their path to remain with a chance of winning the Premiership for the third year on the trot.

“For now we have to forget about Highlanders and shift attention to the next game. I think we have to be alert when it comes to these small teams because they are, at times, tricky.

“So it’s not over until the end of 90 minutes. We will never relax until the final whistle is blown. It might look easy on paper to play Triangle but that is not always the case,” said Murape.

Murape believes Dynamos have to be ruthless in trying to collect maximum points in the remaining games against Triangle (away), Shabanie (home) Chicken Inn (away) and Black Mambas (home).

“There are four games left in the campaign and we have to be like a train that crushes everything in our way. It’s now business and we have to get all the points.

“We should be taking no prisoners at all,” he said.
A battle-hardened Glamour Boy, Murape is the most experienced player in the current Dynamos squad, running on a rickety pair of 33-year old legs, and powered by a lion’s heart.

Murape has also waved a defiant fist at the threats from Triangle coach Gishon Ntini who boasted that he has never lost to Dynamos although history shows that his Shooting Stars were once hammered 4-0 by the Harare giants.

The tough-talking Ntini stoked the flames before the match when he said that Triangle were in top form and were even ready for Manchester United. The former CAPS United coach is bragging that his strikers will score goals as his side are now aiming for a top four finish in their maiden season in the Premiership.

“We will let them talk because it’s an opportunity for teams to be heard before a game against Dynamos. So we cannot deny them the right to speak their minds before they play the champions.

“We respect them as a team in the Premiership but we do not fear them just because they are at home.
“At Dynamos, we have a good coach who has won back-to-back championship but he does not talk too much.

“We should not be worried about Gizha because he is not the one going to play but his players,” said Murape.
Murape also challenged the DeMbare supporters to rally behind the team even when the chips are down.

“Our supporters should make the atmosphere carnival in every game. This is the time that we need them most.
“Now, there are only four games left before the end of the season and it’s crucial. We need to be united as supporters, players, coaches and executive.

“The supporters should encourage us when we make mistakes instead of booing and discouraging us,” he said.
On Sunday, Dynamos will be without defensive rock Partson Jaure after he picked a straight red card during the match against Bosso.
His replacement, the towering Victor Kamhuka, was impressive at Barbourfields.
