Weapon smuggling syndicate busted in Kwekwe

Police in Kwekwe have busted a criminal syndicate found in possession of smuggled offensive weapons.

Some of the weapons include an SP500 bleak barrel pistol, an Atumers rifle with a rifle scope, pellet guns, okapi knives, axes, pepper spray, electric shockers, and rifle telescopes.

In a statement, national police spokesperson, Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed: “On August 27, police in Kwekwe deployed on operation ‘No to Illegal Firearms, Toy Guns, Dangerous Weapons and Smuggling,’ arrested Kiran Naran (40) in the CBD, in connection with smuggling offensive weapons,” he said.
