A MUTARE couple hired some people to act as their relatives as witnesses as they secretly tied the knot.

The secret union has since turned sour, with the man now showing the beast in him as the woman has been turned into a punching bag.

The husband also stands accused of pestering his wife for oral sex, although he insists this is only meant to spice up their sex life.

This emerged when Perpetua Kaswa recently applied for a protection order against Admire Kaswa at the Mutare Civil Court.

Perpetua said she has lost contact with her family ever since her secret wedding in 2013.

She said Admire forced her to walk down the aisle before paying her lobola.

Admire also did not bother to seek his in-laws’ approval.

“He lured me into a wedding. My relatives were not present when we exchanged our nuptial vows. We had to pay people to act as our family members. My parents did not receive any bride price from Admire.

“I have lost communication with my family since 2013. I need my family’s support in these trying times because Admire has turned into a punching bag. He subjects me to constant beatings and harassments, accusing me of witchcraft and possessing goblins,” cried Perpetua.

She said during their happier times, they had agreed that Admire would eventually pay her bride price, but he has reneged on the agreement.

Perpetua said she also regrets marrying Admire as he has turned her into a sex slave.

“I want Admire to be barred from assaulting and insulting me as well as calling my family members to feed them with lies. My parents now despise me because of him,” she said.

In response, Admire said his wife needs to be more receptive of his romantic moves.

“We have a 10-year age difference. I think that is why we are not getting along. During our honeymoon phase, she would demand for intimacy everyday, but now she has totally changed. If I try to be romantic, the end result is a fight,” he said.

He said their matrimonial problems began when she lied that she was visiting her family, only for him to discover that she had gone for ritual ceremonies.

“She lied that she was visiting her parents for three days. When she came back, I checked her bags and came across some cloths. I asked her about the cloths but she could not respond. That was the genesis of our fights,” he said.

Admire denied ever forcing his wife to tie the knot.

“I never forced her to wed or to change her surname. I did not have money to pay her bride price and we agreed to wed without her family’s approval,” said Admire.

Ms Makala granted the protection order which bars Admire from assaulting, insulting, threatening, harassing or calling Perpetua’s parents.
