adminAccording to the event co-ordinator, Godfather Templeman, King Shango, as Capleton is popularly known in dancehall circles, is expected to touch down at the Harare International Airport at 1800 hours and a welcome party will be held at Sports Diner.
“There is a slight change of time as we had earlier stated that Shango will be touching down at around 1645 hours. Shango will be arriving at the airport at 1800 hours aboard a South African airline from Johannesburg. Soon after his arrival, he will be ferried by a motorcade to the Chitungwiza Aquatic Complex, where he is set to guest appear at a school leavers’ party,” said Templeman.
“From Chitungwiza, the popular dancehall star heads for a Press conference at Star FM studios before joining his legions of fans at Sports Diner International for his welcome party,” he said.
Transport to ferry fans to the airport has been made available by the organisers.
“Shango’s legions of fans who want to be at the airport to welcome their icon can be picked up at Red Rose Hair Salon at 1700 hours,” said Templeman.
The organisers of the event have promised fans tight security. “We want to assure all those fans who will be coming for the show not to worry themselves because we have engaged a tight security company for the night,” he said.
Shango, who will be performing in the country for the second time, will be supported by a host of local disc jockeys and musicians that include Winky D, Sniper Storm, Guspy Warrior, Jiggaz, Freeman, Lady B and Lady Squanda.
After Friday’s show, Capleton and Freeman head for South Africa where they are expected to share the stage at one of the leading reggae event dubbed the Cape Town International Reggae Fest slated for the weekend.
