Industry colleagues, friends and fans have taken to social media to pay tribute to the late gospel legend Solly Moholo.

This after a statement shared on his timeline by his management on behalf of the Molokoane family, confirmed he had died in hospital on Wednesday.

“Solly Moholo was hospitalised after falling following his pre-album launch tour in Botswana. He will be sorely missed. May his laughter continue to echo off the walls of heaven. Let us remember him fondly for the healing music he gave us over the years,” he statement read.

“At this time, the family would like to request that they be given privacy and time to mourn the passing of Ntate Solly Moholo and prepare for his burial. Details of his memorial and funeral will be shared in the coming days on all Solly Moholo official pages. Please keep the family in your prayers.”

In late August, Solly was rushed to hospital while in Botswana for the launch of his album Wubani O zo Pepeza. His management later revealed he was in need of R700,000 brain surgery.
