A GROWING movement in Zimbabwe is reshaping how communities think about health, focusing not only on physical fitness, but also on mental resilience, nutrition and social cohesion.

In this regard, a local wellness and fitness organisation is bringing together diverse groups to explore how holistic approaches can empower individuals and strengthen society this upcoming weekend in Harare.

The initiative is rooted in the belief that healthier lifestyles and inclusive spaces can transform communities, aligning personal well-being with national development goals.

Speaking to Zimpapers, Limitless Calm and Wellness founder Mrs Jessy Chakurira said the programme emphasises prevention-focused approaches such as nutrition awareness and wellness education to build healthier societies.

“We want people to see health as more than the absence of illness, it is about balance and resilience. When communities learn together, they grow stronger together,” she said.

By creating inclusive spaces, she noted that the initiative fosters social cohesion and unity across diverse backgrounds.

“This is about breaking barriers and connecting people through shared experiences. Healing is not just individual, it is collective,” said Ms Chakurira.

Mrs Chakurira emphasised that vulnerable groups, particularly women and youth, are empowered with practical tools for mental resilience and informed lifestyle choices.

“We are equipping people with knowledge they can use daily. Empowerment begins when individuals realise they can take charge of their wellbeing,” she said.

She said the approach aligns with Zimbabwe’s national development agenda, strengthening human capital and promoting inclusion.

“Health is the foundation of productivity and progress, she said, nation thrives when its people are well.”

Mrs Chakurira said beyond individual benefits, the initiative inspired meaningful change by uplifting communities and building stronger connections.

“Our vision is to see communities that are not only healthier but also more united. Wellness is a pathway to empowerment and lasting transformation,” she said.
