Ndhlovu said the soap is set to become the most watched television soap in Zimbabwe.

“Season six is the continuation of the plot from season five. The new season is full of surprises, twists and turns. Our vision is to make Wenera one of the flagship programmes on television today. The soap tackles social and political discourses of the country,” he said.

The soap is performed by a star-studded line-up of actors which include Zolile Makeleni, Arnold Gara, Conrad Mwanawashe, Tinashe Murapa and Melody Nyamaropa among others,” he said.

Ndhlovu said they hoped to strike a deal with Multi-Choice for the soap to be aired on DStv.

“We are negotiating with South Africa’s Multi-Choice executives to allow the show to be aired on DStv, that will attract a heterogeneous audience.

We want to build a strong fan base, both locally and internationally,” he said.

“Some of the episodes will feature guest actors, who will twist things, and increase tension among characters. We want every action to be so unpredictable. Fans will have to watch every episode so they cannot miss the drama unfolds,” he said.

Ndhlovu also praised the determination of the Wenera team.

“I am thankful to the Wenera actors who have been energetic and persevered for season 6 to be highly entertaining,” he said.
