Wenger lines up Clement for Arsenal

LONDON. — Arsene Wenger is lining up Real Madrid coach Paul Clement to be his successor at Arsenal. The Gunners boss will be given the keys to the Emirates castle – just like Sir Alex Ferguson was at Manchester United. The 65-year-old will handpick his replacement when he does retire and has identified Englishman Clement as a shock contender. The Sun report that Wenger wants to hire the ideal man and teach him the ropes.

There is understood to be an agreement in place that Wenger moves upstairs after he calls time on his managerial career.
His current No.2 Steve Bould is considered ready but Wenger sees potential in Clement.

Clement (42) has coached at Chelsea, Fulham and Blackburn.
He joined Paris St-Germain in 2012 to work under Carlo Ancelotti – then moved with him to Real Madrid a year later. — Daily Star
