Wenger not afraid

LONDON. — Arsene Wenger hopes Arsenal’s rousing victory over Bayern Munich will inspire them to dump Barcelona out of the Champions League soccer. The Gunners were paired with Europe’s finest side in the last 16, the third time they’ve met in six years. It represents the worst possible draw for Wenger but the manager insists they can upset the apple cart.

“We’re playing the best team in Europe at the moment,” Wenger said.

“We have a chance to knock them out.

“We have to be inspired by the result against Bayern, the same type of team. We have a good chance to go through. An exciting one. We’re ambitious.”

Wenger also said previous defeats by Barcelona — in 2010 and 2011 — will spur him on to victory over the European champions. — Mailonline.
