We’re ready for the fun: Mbada Diamonds

has made a big impression on the domestic football front in the two years that it has been involved with the national game. In those two years, Mbada Diamonds have become the biggest sponsor, in terms of money spent, in the domestic game.

Their showcase event, the Mbada Diamonds Cup, comes to a climax at Rufaro when Dynamos meet Monomotapa in a final that has all the ingredients of a classic.

“As Mbada we are ready for the fun. The best teams this year have gotten to the finals and we expect quality football,” Khumalo said at a media conference in Harare yesterday.

“We have lots of entertainment and 5 000 T-shirts for the first 5 000 supporters.
“We have curtain raisers from St John’s preparatory of Borrowdale versus Mhizha Primary from Highfield. We have the king of sungura Alick Macheso to entertain crowds.

“We will continue harnessing diamonds for the people by uplifting communities through development of sport in Zimbabwe. We would like to thank all stakeholders for making this second edition a success.”
Mbada Diamonds were heavily involved in the sponsorship of the Warriors as they battled to try and qualify for the 2013 Nations Cup finals, only to fall at the last hurdle.

The sponsors also revealed that team which wins the Mbada Diamonds Cup will donate 50 wheelchairs, 50 patient trolleys, beds, among other hospital utensils, to Mutare Provincial Hospital.

And the players and officials of the winning team will tour the hospital and have time to interact with the patients and sign “get-well-soon” cards.
