DYNAMOS vice-chairman, Vincent Chawonza, has claimed the Glamour Boys are the best team in the domestic Premiership.
He says it’s just a matter of time before their real quality emerges and positive results start rolling their way.
The DeMbare leadership were at the club’s training session yesterday ahead of the Harare Derby on Sunday.
“We wanted to motivate the players and also to encourage and remind them that football is a game of three results.
“We have started this campaign strongly and, in my opinion, we have the best team in the league and it’s just a matter of time before we start getting convincing results.
“We wanted to encourage the players that we are behind them and there is no division in the executive, everyone is backing the coaches and the players,” said Chawonza. Ghanaian import, Emmanuel Paga, who was dropped from the match day squad ahead of their 2-3 loss to Bulawayo Chiefs, also apologised to his teammates for his poor penalty when they lost the Uhuru Cup to Highlanders.
“Dynamos never fined Paga and if we had done so it means all the players will start refusing to take that responsibility,” said Chawonza.
“He has apologised to everyone and we all make mistakes. Paga remains one of our players and he will be available for selection this weekend if he impresses the coaches.”
DeMbare are still waiting for the PSL disciplinary hearing verdict for their team manager, Richard Chihoro who was suspended for inappropriate conduct. Chawonza confirmed that they doubled the players’ incentives for such high-profile battles like the one against the Green Machine.
The incentives will also be doubled for matches against Highlanders, FC Platinum and Simba Bhora.
He said Simba Bhora were included because they had a significant number of former DeMbare players and officials. “Our winning bonuses for big games are different from ordinary games,” said Chawonza.
“The boys know that we have pitched our bonuses against big teams like Highlanders, CAPS United, FC Platinum and Simba Bhora higher.”
