He was the first coach to lift a Premiership silverware with Kugona Kunenge Kudada as he won the Bob 88 Super Cup when his mentor Rahman Gumbo was away with the national team.
He was later to assist Gumbo in lifting the Independence Cup when they defeated the Mighty Bulls after a penalty shootout at the NationalSports Stadium.
“It’s a pity we missed the Charity Shield and I feel we should have lifted that Cup as well.
“The match against our rivals, Shabanie Mine, was one of the best matches I have witnessed so far.
“I am expecting the same against Monoz but we are going to give our best performance.
“We have bigger names, better than any club but football is now scientific.
“We have also upped our game and I know they have Rooney (Ronald Chitiyo) but the better team on Saturday is going to win.
“It is my desire to be successful and if my guys maintain their performance and fighting spirit we are going to the final and it’s going to be a different story,” said Chikuni.
Chikuni was born and raised in Mutare and will be on home turf tomorrow.
