Five players managed to score under-par with Hwange Open winner Brian Gondo just one stroke behind the leader.
Gondo, who is playing well this season, scored three-under-par 69 to settle on second position before this mornings’ round.
Jack Rogers, who graduated into professional ranks two seasons ago, was one two-under 70.
Four players were on level — Tongo Charamba, Steven Ferreira, Davidson Elijah and amateur golfer Christian Mbanga.
Marange Resources Pro-Am champion, Greg Bentley, had a hole-in-one on number 17.
Bentley was a happy man.
“It is my first time to have a hole in-one and I am so happy,” Bentley said.
“The moment I hit the shot with my seven iron I just felt it will be near the pin but fortunately it had a single bounce before rolling into the hole.
“I feel much better mentally and I am now able to manage myself where I used to get so frustrated,” Bentley said.
The tournament continues this morning.
