WEST Property Holdings yesterday unveiled its signature gate house at Pomona City signalling the commencement of a US$4 billion ‘city within a city development’.
West Prop CEO Ken Sharpe said the act of opening the gatehouse is simple, but its significance is profound, as it represents the power of unity, progress and limitless possibilities.
“We gather here at the Pomona City Gate entrance, not merely to celebrate the opening of a physical gate, but to embrace a profound symbol that transcends its material form,” he said.
“We are here to ignite a flame that illuminates our collective responsibility towards beloved Zimbabwe, its people and its future generations.
“To us at Westprop, it remains all about the people. If you can recall why we listed.
“To enhance and expand economic opportunities for all Zimbabweans, with no one left behind, also, a continued commitment to the National Development Strategy to achieve an upper-middle class by 2030.”
He said the project was not just a construction project, but a testament to the enduring spirit of its leaders that are leading from the front and setting the standard.
“As we open these gates, we personify the act of continued promise and commitment we made on the 29th April when we listed on the Victoria Falls Stock Exchange,” Sharpe said.
“Our responsibility does not end with the unveiling of this entrance, it begins here. It is a call to action, an awakening of the spirit within each of us, urging us to leave a lasting legacy for our children and generations beyond.”
Sharpe said Zimbabweans should become advocates for each other and start sharing the stories of successes as a new community and the boundless potential and human spirit within all of us.
“Let’s not be part of the naysayers and those that want to pull us down. Let me comfort you; we have never been stronger and on track to deliver 1 billion bricks by 2025.
“Let’s set the example; continue to be part of showcasing the best that Zimbabwe has to offer, not only in form, but in our hearts.”
