biblical David faced stiff opposition from King Saul yet even as a young man the mighty Lord had proved to be by his side despite vicious efforts from the king of the Israelites to put him to death.
The issue at play here is that it seems that some media houses here in Zimbabwe have no knowledge whatsoever as to how the Zimbabwean political sphere is like.
This can be easily reckoned in the manner in which they report on issues which at the end of the day can be best classified as mediocre and full of immaturity, with the only intention being to create an aura of chaos.
It is in this mayhem, now, that many Zimbabweans are misled and end up viewing their leaders as a people lacking qualities which are vital in instilling a sense of identity upon the nation which in the end results in a mindset that is well prepared for positive development.
Not taking much from such media houses, it is a fact that a leader really has to work flat out to make sure that he/she promotes a high sense of social and even cultural identity as this in turn would promote a sense of belongingness to one’s country in the minds of the residents in that country.
One such nation that has over the years managed to achieve such an observable fact is China, the way it has managed to prohibit the English language to permanently and destructively penetrate their system, surely resulted in a nation that’s Chinese at heart.
Yet one factor that many of us overlook is that the Chinese people have been able to paint and bring to life such a distasteful system in the eyes of the West yet on the other hand pleasing to most third world countries, – the unity within the Chinese people themselves.
The Chinese government saw the need to control the amount of foreign media streaming into their country and this did result in a not so corrupted people but a people that are well focused on their actual culture hence the craving to protect and preserve it.
Coming back to Zimbabwe, it would be disheartening if the actual amount of resources and effort in monetary terms that has been poured into inculcating the history of Zimbabwe is disclosed regarding the limited number of Zimbabweans who show appreciation by talking real sense when it comes to the politics of our beloved nation.
One of the profound factors why we were defeated during the First Chimurenga of 1896 is the lack of unity and when the forces came together during the Second Chimurenga victory was inevitable.
A person with common sense is quick to agree that if a home is to be stable, unity which has been mentioned before and above all respect of the head of the house is imperative if the whole family is going to be successful in warding off any unnecessary and destructive interference.
Imagine the benefits that the whole nation did cast away as if it were a bad omen by its utter refusal of the 70-100 percent local content system that had been carefully designed to make sure that the foreign media would not come in to dilute the brains of the people.
Many of us were fooled by the Western media that our leader had all of a sudden become a dictator overnight and some of our educated fellow country men fell for the trap, maybe because of their realising a potential of reaping where they had not sown amidst the confusion which they themselves had created.
The Western media went on a step further by blinding many of us into forgetting that dictators are born not made overnight if the case is the reverse then that president would have been a puppet already and the Western powers wouldn’t bother themselves with such weaklings.
This is the fact that authenticates the sordid idea that the West pushes for every time an African leader preaches about Pan-Africanism and sovereignty in their rush to paint that leader a dictator.
Yet the question that we should ask ourselves as a people with common sense is why is it that only the Western media has the mandate to determine whether nationalistic African leaders are dictators or not?
A lot is left to be desired as our generation and the whole nation continues to sink into the Western media’s quicksand.
My fellow countrymen never belittle the power that the media has and if I were a parent I would really be concerned with the type of media my child is exposed to.
It is the case of an identity that the good man of Africa has been trying to push forth all along despite our ignorance which really has disappointed him as many of us have been made into believing into the Western imposed puppets who masquerade like the God-sent Moses in their endeavour to transform Zimbabwe into another little European country.
Hence it remains a fact that no matter their misdirected effort it is always impossible to bring a good man down just as it is impossible to shoe a running horse.
