THE Whange Agricultural Show starts in the mining town today with 27 exhibitors having confirmed their participation.
In an interview, the show society’s marketing director, Mr Praise Moyo, said most of the exhibition space had already been occupied.
“Sixty percent of the exhibition space has been taken up with some still available for uptake by those ready to set up stalls and or stands,” he said.
Mr Moyo said preparations for the show had gone well.
This year’s show is running under the theme: ‘Adapting and enhancing business in a changing environment’.
Mr Moyo said the show presented an opportunity for exhibitors to showcase their products to a large market in Matabeleland North Province.
“The Whange Agricultural Show is the leading exhibition event in Matabeleland North” said Mr Moyo.
He said such events provided an opportunity for exhibitors to meet their clients and interact with them and exchange ideas on how they could improve their services and products.
“Participants have in previous shows managed to clinch and venture into successful joint business ventures”, said Mr Moyo.
He said they were expecting a huge turn out at this year’s show.
“We are expecting a bigger crowd than last year’s 3000 people in addition to more exhibitors,” said Mr Moyo.
“We are optimistic despite the economic downturn of the yesteryears that this year we will have a better show.”
The show, being held at Number 2 Show grounds along Four Mile Drive, ends on Sunday.
