MUTARE is stepping into the weekend with confidence, colour and a rhythm that refuses to be ignored. From gospel celebrations and birthday cheer to late-night club heat and laid-back old-school Sundays, the city’s entertainment scene is serving something for every taste and tempo. If you are planning your movements carefully, or just ready to follow the music wherever it leads, here is what is lined up across the city.
Fourth Street Lounge
Mutare-based gospel artiste, Melanie Fidze, will be in celebratory mood tomorrow as she hosts a birthday bash marking another year added to her journey. Fidze, who has built a loyal following with songs such as Muri Simba Rangu, featuring Dorcas Moyo, Mutsvene, Celebrate and Nyengetera, is expected to deliver a spiritually charged performance. Holding the vibe together on the decks will be resident DJ Layan, who will warm up the crowd before the main performances and keep the energy alive long after the birthday candles are blown out.
Chitsa Bar and Liquids
The weekend kicks off in style with Freshman Friday, a jamming showcase dedicated to brand-new music designed to inject instant energy into the night. Saturday shifts gears slightly with Sounds of Saturday, where seamless mixes and carefully curated beats will keep the vibe flowing until late. Steering the ship on both nights are the evergreen DJs Stixxie and Popinjo, known for their crowd-reading skills and consistent delivery. Sunday brings a complete mood change with Shisha Nyama Sunday, a chilled but soulful affair powered by old-school maestro DJ Tawaz, serving timeless tracks that invite patrons to relax, reminisce and enjoy the slower side of the weekend.

Club Mandisa
The VIP section will be buzzing as selected DJs led by Nasty take charge of the decks this weekend, delivering club-ready sounds tailored for high-energy patrons. Adding to the spectacle, vixens will from tonight be entertaining revellers in the VIP cubicle, engaging the crowd with bold, gyrating performances that match the club’s edgy nightlife reputation.
Bleu
City-centre revellers are in for a treat as DJ Snaxx teams up with rising star, Fogo for a weekend of dynamic sessions. Tonight’s set leans into the latest hits, keeping things fresh and current, while Sunday flips the script with a nostalgic celebration of classic old-school tracks. The balance promises something for both trend-chasers and lovers of timeless sound.
Micasa
The much-anticipated Happy Friday sees Frazer and Cape Lorel alternating behind the turntables, blending fresh hits with classic favourites. Saturday night reunites the duo for a high-energy session designed to keep the dancefloor packed. Sunday, traditionally reserved for smooth jazz, takes a different but relaxed route as a seasoned old-school DJ delivers timeless tunes for a calm and classy weekend close.
Madziro
Selected DJs will be on rotation from Friday through Sunday at this open-door joint, offering non-stop entertainment and a casual atmosphere for those who prefer variety and flexibility in their weekend plans.
Pahukama
Entertainment duties are in the hands of selected DJs led by DJ Yala tonight and through Saturday. On Sunday afternoon, the joint at Acid Shopping Centre in Zimta hosts an old-school session, perfect for daytime grooving and relaxed socialising.
