A NJUBE man who thought he could make a quick buck by flogging a stolen TV on WhatsApp has landed in hot soup!
Jordan Ncube (31) appeared before Western Commonage magistrate Mr Archie Wochiwunga facing unlawful entry charges after he allegedly broke into a house in Entumbane and swiped a 43-inch plasma television and an OpenView decoder.

Prosecutor Ms Audrey Kufandikanwe told the court the incident happened on 18 June. Ncube and his partner-in-crime, only known as Mncedisi, who is still on the run, forced their way into Ms Isabel Moyo’s home by breaking a padlock.
The pair headed straight to the lounge and helped themselves to a Luxuco TV and decoder before vanishing into the night.
But the next day, Ncube got cocky and posted the stolen TV on a WhatsApp group. That move backfired.

One Wellington Mthunzi spotted the advert, contacted Ncube, viewed the set, and bought it for just US$130.
The joy was short-lived as police tracked the transaction, recovered the TV and nabbed Ncube. The decoder is still missing, and cops are hot on Mncedisi’s trail.

Ncube has been remanded in custody to 23 July.
Lesson of the day — WhatsApp deals might just lead you straight to a jail cell!
