MINISTER for State for Bulawayo Metropolitan Province Nomthandazo Moyo has rallied behind Team Zimbabwe to win a lot of medals for the nation.

Addressing journalists after the official commissioning of White City Stadium in Bulawayo yesterday, Moyo said Team Zimbabwe should thrive at the ongoing African Union Sports Council Region 5 Under- 20 Youth Games.

“I am hoping the rains won’t disturb the proceedings of these Games. I am also impressed by the turnout by the people of Bulawayo to attend these Games,” Moyo said.

“It is very impressive and it shows that people are interested in what is happening here. I hope Zimbabwe athletes will do well.”

The rains that hit this city did not deter fans who came in droves for the commissioning of the refurbished White City Stadium.

A spectator, Nqobani Sibanda, said he ddidn’t mind the rains.

“I can’t miss the action,” he said.

“These Games are very important for Bulawayo and they are the best thing that have ever happened in this country. It’s up to us to come out and support our team.”
