WHO WILL STOP AGENTS?

WHO will stop Agents FC?

They are the only team in the Harare Super League still to drop points after three rounds of matches and sit on top of the table.

They hammered Stadic FC 4-0 over the weekend.

They seem to be reaping the rewards of banking their trust on the likes of Oscar Machapa, Pride Tafirenyika and Vimba “Mbare” Madamombe.

The club’s organiser, Shame Gwata, said the best is still yet to come.

Evans Gwekwerere was the star of the show again with a hat-trick as Jameson FC thrashed bitter rivals Mupanda FC in a stunning 7-0 rout at Belgravia Sports Club on Saturday. This was the biggest thrashing recorded in the league so far.

Jameson unveiled their new forward, former Golden Boot winner, Nelson Mazivisa, who ended his professional career in Zambia.

But, it was Gwekwerere who stole the show with his glut of goals in a match in which Mupanda ended one man short after one of their defenders was sent off for violent conduct. After the match, Mpanda players, led by midfielder Oscar Hunda, questioned the playing field in the league.

They feel Jameson FC should have more players, aged above 40, rather than having a team made up predominantly of those just over 30, who have just ended their professional playing careers.

It was Mpanda’s first loss of the season and it saw them being dislodged at the summit of this social league by Agents FC.

K9 and Tachay settled for a goalless stalemate. The battle between Diaspora FC and Cowboys FC produced an eight goal thriller despite the match ending in a draw.

There was also nothing to separate Europa FC and Empire Gym as the match ended 3-3.

Tafadzwa “Izzy” Mahlengwe was the hero for Americans FC as the club, made up mainly of those who grew up in Glen Norah, humbled Royal FC 3-2 at Alex Sports Club.

Godfrey Tapfuma grabbed a brace for Royal FC. Telco continued with their poor form as they suffered a 1-4 thumping at the hands of Touch Power.

As things stand, Telco, Position FC and Stadic are still yet to pick up a point.

Position FC were not in action at the weekend.
