Bishop Manjoro
WHY is my breakthrough not happening? I have prayed, fasted, declared but nothing has happened or moved. Why? What’s wrong with my prayer? I have long since declared, “Door open, door open” yet it had remained fast-shut. By the grace of God, today I will explain to you why it can be so in life; why you may desire a lot, declare a lot, and even step out like we said last week yet somehow things don’t move or change.
Why?
In the past weeks we have been looking at 2 Kings 7, where we saw a catastrophic situation of drought, immediately reversed by the declaration of the prophet of God, Elisha.
In 24 hours the situation was reversed and changed. However, one general, close to the king, doubted it and said, even ‘if the Lord would make windows in heaven, might this thing be?’ meaning it would not happen even with God.
Here, friend we introduced to the highest form of doubt that you can find on earth — believing that God cannot do it. If a person says, ‘my manager cannot do it; my father cannot do it, my friend cannot do it’, that’s ok. But when you get to a point when you say ‘even if God. . . !’ Ah, that’s deep, because if God cannot do it who else can do it? To this level of doubt, the prophet said according to what you have said, you will witness it but you will not participate; you will see it but you won’t eat of it.
Friends, doubt is terrible. Doubt is dangerous. It is subtle and can be disguised as cleverness yet it stops a lot of things in life. It comes from the same root with the word “dubious” which would mean moving alternatively in two opposite directions.
James 1:6-8 says when you ask something, believe, don’t doubt, don’t waver, and don’t hesitate. When you doubt it’s like the waves in the ocean. They can be very high, which is when you have a lot of faith and say “I got it, I got it.” But sadly when the wave gets to the shore it collapses, achieving nothing. Doubt is like that. It hinders prayer and causes you to achieve nothing in life. It hinders what you want to see God do in your family, marriage, finances, business, health and any area of your life.
From the book of Matthew 21:21 we hear a remark from the Lord Jesus Christ on the issue of doubt and how it affects answers to prayer; “Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.”
If you pray and not doubt, you will see the impossible and have whatsoever you ask for. Stand on the Word of God and don’t waver at God’s Word and promise.
Don’t waver about that promotion you are expecting; about your spouse whom you are praying to be a better person; about that pain on your sides that keeps tormenting you — don’t waver.
Many can momentarily declare “I am healed, I am healed,” but when they feel a little bit of pain they say “Maiweee chadzoka!” (Oo it’s back). Don’t doubt, don’t doubt, Believe the Word of God.
At this point one could now be saying, “Oo I have seen why my life has not been moving — it’s because I have no faith.” You are wrong, brother. You have faith. The bible says we all have a measure of faith, so much such that “if ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you” Luke 17:6. One key word I liked above there is “obey.” When you have faith, situations will obey you.
When you have doubt, situations will disobey you. You will declare and declare but nothing will happen — doubt causes things to disobey you. If you doubt even school fees o for your child of US$62 can disobey you. You command and tell it to come and it doesn’t come. O hallelujah! But to you it shall not be so. I declare you, a giant of faith.
You will declare things and things will hear and come to pass. You will declare success of your business, unity in your marriage, fruition of your womb, good upkeep of your children and it shall surely obey you and come to pass in Jesus name.
A few weeks ago I was called by one of our pastors in Harare, concerning a case of a woman with overdue pregnancy, whose baby would not come out.
Upon hearing it, I declared simply, “Mwana, famba, buda!” (Child, move, come out). It was just that and glory to God the child came out safely. God is able, faithful and not a respector of persons — you can change your circumstance today in Jesus name. Just don’t doubt.
Don’t doubt, don’t doubt. Believe the Word of God. Don’t be lured to give up by a person dying because of lack of hope. You are alive, shake yourself and tell yourself, I can do it, I can achieve it, I can have it. I can do the impossible!
Today is a good day. All that ate your opportunities, enough is enough. I challenge you to declare a declaration against that force.
Let all you touch come to fruition in Jesus name. Some have long since confessed owning houses when the year began. It may even have been declared, “houses are coming; houses are coming!”
With joy you grabbed the word. But now this is September, doubt is beginning to creep in. You are now telling yourself “Umm I think I was wrong, it was just excitement; I will not have it, I will not own it. It’s not mine.”
Ah friend, hold it right there, I have a good word for you — you can do it. You can do the impossible. Stand on the Word of God. It’s not over until it’s over. Fight the good fight of faith.
Take note also, that over confidence is not faith. Over confidence is natural and physical but faith is supernatural. Have faith in God and not just overconfidence in the flesh. Don’t doubt, don’t doubt, believe the Word of God. For with God all things are possible, Mark 10:27.
