Why Marriot left Rufaro at half time

THERE was too much drama at Rufaro on Sunday to notice that Dynamos owner Bernard Marriot left the stadium around halftime.

At that time Dynamos was leading 1-0, after captain Emmanuel Jalai had given his team the lead.

The match later ended 1-1, before DeMbare won 5-3 on penalties.

But Marriot was no longer in the stadium when Bosso found the equaliser through Melikhaya Ncube, before DeMbare eventually won.

“We did notice he wasn’t there in the second half, but there was no clear explanation,” said one source in the VVIP.

Another sources close to the situation said the Dynamos director seemed unwell.

“It did not seem to be something serious, because he was in a jovial mood. And besides, Dynamos was leading.

“But those close to him just said, he was feeling discomfort, so he had to go. There is nothing more to it.”
