SHANGHAI. — Jose Mourinho explained how “hours of analysis” led to the decision to travel to China without new signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Ibrahimovic, who played his last international game for Sweden at Euro 2016 before retiring, didn’t manage to get out of the group stage as his national side crashed out of the tournament disappointingly early.
Currently away in China for Manchester United’s pre-season tour, Jose Mourinho explained why he and his staff decided to give the 34-year-old a week longer to go on holiday in order to recover for the new season.
“The best suits are the suits by measure,” said during his press conference in Shanghai. Suits made by measure should be better than going to a shop and just buying a size that may fit you well or not so well. I do the same for players. There are no two players the same,” he added.
“My decision on Zlatan is the consequence of many hours of study, analysis and discussion with my staff. Despite the fact he was out of the Euros one match before the English guys, everything is different.” — AFP.
