TELONE were winners both on and off the pitch last weekend.

A day before they claimed the scalp of previously unbeaten Ngezi Platinum Stars, the Wi-Fi Boys had clinched a sponsorship with funeral service providers, Nyaradzo Group.

TelOne moved to 10 points after edging Ngezi 2-1 at Ascot in Gweru.

Ngezi went into the match on the back of an unbeaten start to the 2025 season, but the 2023 champions left the Midlands capital empty-handed as they slid into second-place on the log standings.

Donning their brand-new blue and white kit, which is part of the sponsorship deal with Nyaradzo, TelOne got their goals through leading scorer Washington Navaya and Tawanda Macheke while Malvin Gaki replied once for Ngezi.

Navaya took his tally to five goals in six matches.

The win left TelOne just four points behind new log leaders MWOS, who moved to 14 points after a narrow 1-0 victory over Herentals at Wadzanayi on Sunday.

While expressing his gratitude towards the team’s start in the season, TelOne president Oscah Nduwure also hailed the club’s fresh partnership with Nyaradzo.

“TelOne Football Club is excited to announce the launch of this season’s team kit, a significant milestone that represents not just a new look for our players but also the culmination of a promising partnership with Nyaradzo.

“This collaboration marks an exciting chapter for both organizations, and we are proud to unveil a kit that symbolizes our shared commitment to excellence and community spirit,” said Nduwure.

“The new kit features a modern design that embodies the core values of TelOne Football Club while highlighting the exceptional support provided by Nyaradzo.

“This fresh look will not only invigorate our players but also inspire our dedicated fans who support us every step of the way. We believe that this partnership will allow us to rise to new heights, both on and off the field,” added Nduwure.

TelOne have started the new season in remarkable form.

With three wins, a draw and two losses from their opening six matches, the Wi-Fi Boys have raked 10 points out of a possible 18.

TelOne managed eight points at this juncture last season.

Buoyed by their partnership with Nyaradzo, TelOne are now aiming to maintain their momentum.

So, far they have beaten Triangle, giants CAPS United and Ngezi at home.

The Gweru side held Dynamos 1-1 at Rufaro in their third game of the season.

“At TelOne FC, we are excited about this partnership and the opportunities it brings. Nyaradzo has been an outstanding ally, supporting not just our football club but also on the corporate side.

“We genuinely believe through this alliance we are going to cultivate stronger relationships and expand our impact in the world of sports and beyond.

“Together, we look forward to not just enhancing our team’s performance but also creating memorable experiences for our fans.

“Our vision is to foster a thriving football culture that reflects pride, resilience, and unity, and we are excited to have Nyaradzo by our side as we embark on this journey,” said Nduwure.

Nyaradzo sales and marketing executive, Darlington Mabvure, believes the partnership will enhance football development in the Midlands region.

“We are thrilled to partner with TelOne FC and contribute to the development of sports in our region,” said Mabvure.

“This partnership is a testament to our commitment to giving back to the community and nurturing young talent.

“We look forward to many more years of fruitful collaboration.”
