Kamupeta denied two counts of domestic violence and unreasonable disposal of property when he appeared before Chitungwiza magistrate Ms Rumbidzai Mugwagwa.
Ms Mugwagwa remanded him in custody to Thursday for sentence.
Kamupeta had sworn to quit drinking and smoking to become a Christian.
“Your Worship, I am asking for a last chance to go home and look for the money and my family is suffering.
“If you give me the chance I am promising to quit drinking and smoking. Life in the cells is horrible.”
Prosecutor Mr Felix Tavengwa told the court that on October 27 and at around 2pm, Kamupeta’s wife Esnath Mhlanga (33), a teacher at Brechin Primary School in Beatrice, came home and found her television set and a DVD player missing.
She asked her husband about the missing gadgets and was told that he sold them to someone in Unit N.
An argument ensued and Kamupeta assaulted her.
The couple went to Unit N to collect the property but Kamupeta allegedly assaulted his wife and she sustained a swollen eye.
Mhlanga reported the matter to the police, leading to his arrest.
