A Harare man yesterday sought a protection order against his wife, accusing her of conducting some rituals at their house.
Mike Kushinga hauled his wife, Annamore Mangidza, to the Harare Civil Court saying she also insults and denies him conjugal rights.
Magistrate Tamara Chibindi granted Mike the protection order.
“She does not want my relatives at our matrimonial house, and I don’t know her reasons.
“Every time I want to have sex with her, she refuses, insults me and grabs my private parts.
“She also threatens to kill me and conducts some rituals at our house with her friends. They will be smoking cigarettes and throwing rice on the ground,” he said.
Responding to the application, Annamore told the court that her husband was the aggressor, not her.
“What he is saying is not true; he is the one who insults me in front of the children.
“When he comes home from work, he washes his private parts in a bucket and sleeps under his own blankets.
“He has a girlfriend, so I assume he goes to her and when he comes home, he doesn’t want anything to do with me,” she claimed.
Magistrate Chibindi ordered Annamore not to insult, assault, harass or threaten her husband.
