AN Epworth woman applied for a protection order, accusing her husband of verbally and physically abusing her ever since they got married.

David Sithole is being accused of turning the life of his wife, Leister Sibanda, into a living hell.

The matter was heard by the Harare Civil Court where Sibanda revealed that her husband had developed a habit of abusing her and the children.

Presiding magistrate Sharon Mashavira granted Sibanda the protection order.

Sithole was told to stop abusing his wife and children.

“Your Worship, he is my husband, but he has a tendency of insulting and assaulting me and our children.

“He insults me with obscenities to the extent that I was approached by neighbours to reprimand him. Anetsika yekukutura chikafu pasi kana ndabika vana vorara nenzara.

“I am now currently staying with my sister due to the situation at home,” said Sibanda.

In response, Sithole did not dispute the allegations.

“I am not opposed to the application. I was surprised when she came to take all her property, and I am not aware where she went.

“In her application, there are some lies, but I love my wife and children,” said Sithole.
