MANY couples seem to be happy when they are in public but a lot seems to happen at their homes.
Silindile Ncube from Nkulumane suburb in Bulawayo was left with scars all over her body after her husband only identified as Sibanda brutally assaulted her following a misunderstanding over hot chips.
Sibanda and Ncube have one child together but they each have two children from their previous marriages and they are staying with them.
The following is a script of their dramatic fight as it was relayed to B-Metro by one of the neighbours.
According to a neighbour who asked not to be named, the two picked up an argument when they arrived home from a beer drink.
a�?On their way home from a beer drink they bought two packets of hot chips and Sibanda who complained that he was hungry ate one packet before he agreed with his wifeA� to keep the other one for their children.
a�?Problems, however, started when they arrived home and Sibanda said the chips were supposed to be shared among the children on the following day. This was after he had realised that his children were fast asleep while those of Ncube were still awake,a�? said the neighbour.
A heated argument reportedly ensued between the couple and at the height of the fracas Ncube is alleged to have forcibly grabbed the chips from Sibanda and given them to her children.
This, however, didna��t go down well with Sibanda who descended on his wife and beat her all over the body with open hands and booted feet.
Ncube, who reportedly suffered bruises all over her body, did not however, report the matter to the police.
The neighbour further said the fight was not something new to the couple as they were always quarrelling over petty issues.
Although Sibanda could not be reached for comment his wife confirmed the incident. She said they were constantly having problems.
a�?It is true that we fought following a misunderstanding over how hot chips should be shared equally to our children. Sibanda is very abusive,a�? she said.
