ROBBED!
He claims everything was fast-forwarded and within three months the woman forced him to pay lobola, not knowing he was being robbed.

Tonderai Ndawi’s marriage to Tatenda Munyuki ended on a bad note as the woman stole his US$2 500 and cellphone.

The two reportedly met on a dating forum in May and as they were both eager for marriage, they never wasted anytime with Ndawi paying lobola in a period of two months.

“We met sometime in May and after two months we agreed to formalise our relationship. She took me to her aunt in Macheke and I paid bride price of $500.

“We then started staying together and agreed to save some money so we could buy property in December. Shockingly two weeks ago, I found her gone and she took all my money and cellphone,” said the visibly frustrated Ndawi.

He discovered that he had been robbed when he went to Macheke to look for the said aunt, only to be told she was a domestic worker and was no longer working there.

“I discovered that the aunt was a fake one as well because even when I phoned her, she pretended not to know me and is now ignoring my calls.

“All I want is my money back and am not sure whether Munyuki was her real name as I do not even remember seeing her identity card,” he said.

Ndawi said he would continue looking for the woman and believed she was in the game of robbing men who are desperate for marriage.

Efforts to get a comment from Munyuki and the woman who claimed to be her aunt were fruitless.
