Wife, sister-in-law ‘bashed’ for excluding hubby in discussion

A 33-YEAR-OLD man from Bulawayo allegedly bashed his wife and her younger sister for excluding him in a conversation.

Straight Sinyamunjiko from Gwabalanda suburb, a court heard, set upon his wife Tereza Rangwani and sister-in-law, Faith, 18, with a flurry of punches.

Sinyamunjiko appeared before Western Commonage magistrate Sibongile Msipa- Marondedze facing two counts of physical abuse. He pleaded guilty and was fined $100 for both counts.

Prosecuting, Margaret Muhomba said on Saturday last week, Tereza was at home discussing domestic affairs with her sister Faith when Sinyamunjiko interfered.

Muhomba said Sinyamunjiko became angry about the sisters’ conversation and slapped his wife once on the cheek. “After assaulting his wife, Sinyamunjiko went on to slap and punch his sister-in-law several times all over the face. Faith sustained a cracked tooth as a result of the assault, the court heard. No medical report was produced in court as the sisters did not seek medical attention.
