But there was a drama when match referee Nomore Musundire, who had a brilliant afternoon, was involved in a fist-fight with a rowdy Motor Action supporter at the end of the match.
The incident happened when the referees had already finished their business and were preparing to leave the venue.
Musundire claimed that the Motor Action supporter wanted to attack assistant referee Bongani Gadzikwa, accusing him of being biased. But before he could pounce on the assistant referee, Musundire overpowered and shoved him to the ground. As he turned his back the supporter hurled an empty beer bottle which missed the referee and then a fist-fight ensued.
The police had already left the stadium when the altercation took place.
Besides the fight, the match had been a complete yawn.
Motor Action coach David George was disappointed as the Mighty Bulls dropped points again to stretch their misery to six winless games.
George, who is holding fort in the absence of manager Joey Antipas, said the team did not perform well after failing to convert the few chances they created.
Striker Tawanda Nyamandwe could have done better in the ninth minute when he misdirected his effort off-target after getting to the end of a cross from the left flank following good work by Ocean Mushure and Thembani Masuku.
Edmore Chitato sent another cross but Nyamandwe could not find enough height and Masuku’s sliding effort at the back post rolled just wide with goalkeeper Godfrey Brown beaten.
The Bulls made three substitutions in the second half bringing in Conrad Whitby, Gift Phiri and Lameck Mukakiwa but there was no change to their fortunes.
“That wasn’t a good performance at all. We are getting the chances but we are not scoring. This is the same team that plays all the time and I wish we can turn the draws into wins,” said George.
Shooting Stars on the other hand could feel happy to collect a point from Motor Action but that did very little to cheer their spirits in their battle for survival. The Wild Boys are third from the bottom with 24 points.
Muchineripi Muneri had a good chance in the 88th minute but he could not find firm footing from a corner kick by Elliot Matsika.
Substitute Francis Kanda also sent his effort over the crossbar after receiving a cross from Tigere Muparanganda.
