Will and Jada Smith’s journey through separation, renewal

ACTOR Will Smith (56) and wife Jada Pinkett’s bizarre relationship arrangement has finally been revealed.

The couple, who married in 1997, have had what appears to be a fractured relationship over the years, with Jada (53) revealing in 2017 that she and the “I Am Legend” star had been separated since 2016.

“The Matrix” star revealed she had become “exhausted” by their marriage.

However, just two years later, it appears things are back on track for the Smiths, who share two children, Jaden (26) and Willow (24).

But while they may be working things out, the couple have a very unique way of doing so, with insiders claiming that, while they are physically back together, there is still an ounce of separation between Jada and Will.

The couple have never shied away from sharing what it has been like for them both, with Will previously saying they had given one another “trust and freedom” after they both became “miserable” during their marriage.

“Call it what you want,” a source said, before adding: “They are living their own lives.”

Meanwhile, they added: “But (they) have not completely severed ties.”

Another source told the media that Will and Jada “are still together” but “have had separate homes for years”.

The dramatic news comes on the same day that Will shared his latest single, “Beautiful Scars”, taken from his forthcoming album, “Based on a True Story”, which is slated for release in March this year.

Two years ago, it emerged that Jada had purchased her own home close to Will’s in the sprawling Calabasas hills.

Speaking about their relationship in 2023, Jada said: “We have been doing some really heavy-duty work together. We just got deep love for each other, and we are going to figure out what that looks like for us.”

While discussing her memoir, “Worthy”, on a television show, she said she had become “exhausted” by their relationship.

During an appearance on the show, Jada said: “I think by the time we got to 2016 we were just exhausted with trying. I think we were both kind of just still stuck in our fantasy of what we thought the other person should be.”

Meanwhile, she previously explained that their separation was similar to a divorce — but neither had filed any official paperwork.

“It was not a divorce on paper but it was a divorce,” she said in her memoir.

However, she has previously spoken to a divorce lawyer but never instructed them to issue papers.

However, it was previously reported that Will was “blindsided” by Jada’s confessions regarding their private life, following the release of her book and various podcast and television appearances.

An insider told the media that Jada did not have Will’s approval to discuss their private life.

They then said he has been left feeling “more emasculated than ever”.

Will was said to feel “humiliated” and “betrayed” by Jada addressing the infamous Oscars slap, with the actor now setting his sights on divorce.

Touching on divorce, the source revealed: “He (Will) knows he needs to be strategic as there is US$400 million on the line.

”But he is hurt and angry and this is the final straw. He wants to divorce and end the charade.” — Wires
