The agent is also said to have written to the club demanding that they take stock of their actions, especially on the suspension of Khumalo. The letter also demanded that the club meets its obligations of paying the players their dues. He gave the Beitbridge side 24 hours to act on the matter. The letter was written last week.
Khumalo was suspended last month on allegations of sabotaging the team, allegations which club secretary Rodlet Chigwinya rubbished, although he confirmed the suspension.
“Reports that came out in the media on the reasons for Khumalo’s suspension were not true but what I can confirm is that we suspended him because of his behaviour on and off the field. He was inciting the players to revolt against the team over their allowances and we felt that was unbecoming of a coach,” said Chigwinya.
He also confirmed receiving the letter but chose to down play the whole issue.
“We have resolved the issue with players’ agent and for now, it’s purely an in-house baby and nothing more. However may I state that when we negotiated and eventually got into contracts with the said players, there was no mention of the agent and his name is only appearing now,” said the secretary.
Some of the players who are allegedly owed money are Vorster Chitemu, Sizalobuhle Dube, Kenny Msimanga, and Patrick Mpofu.
