KALLISTO Pasuwa’s Nyasa Bullets have failed to win in their last FOUR league matches, which is an unusual run of results for the serial Malawi champions.
Now, the people’s team are acknowledging that pressure was taking a toll on them in their bid to defend the TNM Super League title.
Pasuwa’s men lead the 16-team domestic top-flight league with 56 points from 28 matches.
They are tied on points with second-placed Silver Strikers, who have played a game more.
Bullets have drawn three and lost once in their past four league matches.
Club chief administration officer, Albert Chigoga said: It is fair to read the (league) win-less streak, but that’s what football competition is all about.
“Pressure is now on us to salvage the league championship. It is still ours to lose.
“Hopefully, we’ll make the most of our remaining two games and then clinch it.”
Following their 1-0 loss to Dedza Dynamos Salima Sugar last week, Pasuwa acknowledged that the team’s five-game win-less streak then, including an Airtel Top 8 quarter-final second leg 1-2 defeat to Civil Service United, was unusual.
He blamed it on their crammed programme.
However, Bullets beat Blue Eagles 3-2 in the Airtel Top 8 semi-final on Sunday in Lilongwe to ease pressure.
Their next fixture is against Karonga United today at Karonga Stadium and a win could see them move within touching distance of the title.
