SIX women from the New Life Pentecostal Church were yesterday blessed with expensive kitchen wares and electrical appliances after a prayer meeting at Raylton Sports Club.
Dubbed “Handei kuChina Tivake Mhuri”, the six women attended their traditional Thursday gatherings and took home electrical stoves and double door refrigerators after some financial contributions.
Church elder and wife to Apostle Benjamin Murata, Ottilia Murata, urged women to engage in self-help projects in order to sustain their families.
“Gone are the days where women depended on their spouses to support families,” said Murata.
“We want women who meet with other women in prayer gatherings where we share ideas that give life to our families.
“These items are a result of our weekly prayer meetings where we raise money to support our families.
“I want to challenge women who do not take our weekly gatherings seriously to come and join others.
“KuChina kunovakwa mhuri, kunodzidziswa mabasa anovandudza mhuri uye kunoshongedza dzimba dzedu,” she said.
