Winky-D promises fireworks

– Primus Rat and Mouse joint – for a show dubbed “Winky-D Dancehall 2011”.
Show promoter and owner of the joint Dunmore Mutyambizi said – the self christened “Messi of reggae” would unleash his 2011 gems at tonight’s gig.
“We are bringing Winky-D to Marondera for the second time in 2011 after the memorable New Year’s Eve show.
“Winky has promised to woo the crowd with predominantly new reggae tracks at the bash,” he said.
Mutyambizi said Winky’s last show at the venue was a huge success, considering that the reggae prodigy was playing on the same day King Shango was rocking Harare.
Winky-D whose profile has been in ascendancy in recent months as he has churned hit songs in succession, is set to consolidate his growing fan base in the small town of Marondera.
Still basking in the glory that comes with scooping two awards at this year’s NAMA – Winky-D will be conscious not to disappoint his legion of fans.
A cross section of fans have fallen in love with Winky’s satirical urban contemporary-social reggae tunes that include chart toppers “Big Man”, “Takaipa Takaipa”, “Bhachi ne Jean”, “Green Like Mi Garden” and an array of other hits.
Winky-D, who has promised fireworks today will without doubt play the hit “Ndinorangarira ndirikuNorton”, a tribute to his mother as the show falls during the Mother’s Day week which is celebrated the world over.
On Saturday Bridget Gavanga aka “Bubbling-B” will play at the same venue.
Gavanga is not the first top dee jay to play at the joint as the likes of Mailman, Squilla and DJ Munya have also taken turns to play at Primus Rat and Mouse.
