WISE Owl Group of Schools was swindled out of thousands of dollars.
A Harare man appeared in court for allegedly committing the offence.
Lionel Munashe Karumbidza was granted $100 000 bail when he appeared before Harare magistrate Dennis Mangosi.
He will be back in court on April 12 pending finalisation of investigations.
Prosecutor Grace Mugocheke said between January and March 8, Karumbidza connived with his brother, Munyaradzi Karumbidza, who is already on remand, to steal from the school.
It is alleged that on several occasions, Munashe and Munyaradzi received money amounting to US$26 350 from Wise Owl Group of Schools.
The court heard that the money was supposed to go to Avante Drilling (Pvt) Ltd as payment for a dozer and its transportation to Wise Owl Group of Schools.
It is alleged that the duo only handed over US$3 760 and converted the remainder to their own use.
The matter came to light when Avante Drilling company approached the school requesting payment.
The school then realised that it had been duped.
The matter was reported to police leading to Munyaradzi’s arrest.
Munyaradzi then implicated Lionel.
