FORMER Highlanders, Chicken Inn and Bantu Rovers coach Mandla aï¿½?Luluaï¿½? Mpofu has become the latest gaffer to be linked with a South African National First Division side.

Mpofu, who assumed the position of head coach for the national Under 20 side following the departure of Jairos Tapera to another Mzansiaï¿½ï¿½s National First Division One outfit Black Leopards, has reportedly been recommended to join Witbank Spurs as an assistant coach to clubaï¿½ï¿½s chairman and head coach Themba Mafu.

aï¿½?I have forwarded Mandlaaï¿½ï¿½s curriculum vitae to Witbank Spurs. I had to recommend him to the club because I believe he is one of the Zimbabwean coaches with a good CV,aï¿½? said Swaziland-based coaches broker Dingane Maduna.

Mpofu is a holder of a CAF A coaching licence and he has worked with a number of esteemed Zimbabwean coaches that include the late Adam aï¿½?Adamskiaï¿½? Ndlovu, Methembe Ndlovu, Dumaza Dube, Mkhuphali Masuku and Bongani Mafu among others.

Witbank Spurs are home to Tendai Ndoroaï¿½ï¿½s twin brother Takudzwa and former Highlanders midfielder Peter aï¿½?Rioaï¿½? Moyo.

Ex Bosso striker Cleopas aï¿½?Ballotelliaï¿½? Dube has been with the club since 2014 before his recent permanent move to the newly promoted Absa Premiership side Baroka FC on a three-year deal.
