Witness of Jesus to release second album

their debut 2011 offering, “Hakuna Rimwe Zita”, that was well received in the music industry.
What makes their music irresistible is that they experiment with different beats to come up with a refreshing approach.
The nine-member outfit, said they get inspiration   from the leader of their church, Bishop Totela Mtotela of Zvapupu ZvaJesu Apostolic Church, who always encourages them to use novel ideas in their music to extol God.
“As a result, we have decided to play various musical instruments like guitars and keyboards to come up with a hybrid sound.
“However, we also have some acapella songs,” said Mashoko Gamanya, one of the leaders of the group.   
The album opens with the title track, “Muponisi Wangu”, about how Jesus Christ delivers people from the challenges they face in life.
“Ndakatadza” takes the issue further by reminding people that they should first repent and confess their sins if they are to be forgiven, while “Fambai Munyika” is based on the Bible verse in which Jesus Christ told His disciples to go out into the world and spread the Gospel.
There is close link to the songs by the group, and listening to yet another album called “Mirai SaMwari”, it is clear that the group is urging people to emulate God in everything they do in their lives.
Other songs to look forward to include “Tinomunamata”, “Garai Nesu” and “Makaita Zvenyu”.
The group that has been well received, however, said they had not been able to make a living from music.
“We have not been able to make a breakthrough and we are currently faced with financial challenges.
“The project can grow to a bigger scale than what it is now, if we can get a promoter to assist the band in scouting for new opportunities for us,” Gamanya said.
However despite the enormous challenges they were facing, they were in the processing of recording a two-in-one DVD were currently underway.
Diamond Studios is marketing and distributing both albums by the group.
The group was formed in December 2010 by Gamanya and one Mai Dinala.
Talented music exponents Jonathan Mgazi and Tamuka Marodza assist them in playing their music instruments.
“Our aim through music is to praise God and his son Jesus Christ as well as the Holy Spirit and remind people that this is what they should live for in life.
“That is the reason why we base most of our songs from the Bible,” Gamanya said.
Gamanya was born on March 28, 1981 in Murambinda, Buhera.
“It is our mission to use music as a way of assisting orphans and widows,” Gamanya said.
