NOT so fast!

South Africa-bound Bosso magician Knox Mutizwa has to impress Bidvest Wits coach Gavin Hunt within the next six months when he is on probation before the team gives him aA long term contract.

According to Highlandersa CEO, Ndumiso Gumede, the player who late last year shuttled between Zimbabwe and South Africa three times before Bidvest Wits decided that he had the potential in the South African top flight, will be on six months loan to the Absa Premiership side.

a?We can say he will be on probation. He will be on a six months loan to Bidvest Wits. This means he has up to December to impress and get a permanent contract. He went for trials about three times before they (Bidwest Wits) decided he was a gem that could be polished further. Consequently, we received a $10 000 commitment fee from the South African club,a? said Gumede.

Initially media reports had suggested that the former Bosso juniors player had already landed a permanent deal in Mzansi.

a?Remember Mutizwa renewed his contract with us late last year with another year and after spending six months (January to June) with us we are waiting to receive a loan fee from Bidvest. The loan fee will obviously be higher than the commitment fee. The larger chunk of the money will come if the player does well and gets a permanent contract,a? said Gumede.

Meanwhile, Bossoas South African Chapter has reportedly organised a reception ceremony befitting a soccer star of Mutizwaas magnitude at Oliver Tambo International Airport.

a?Our South Africa chapter has arranged a reception ceremony for Mutizwa in Johannesburg. There will be a convoy that will take him to Pretoria where Bidvest Wits are based. We wish Mutizwa well in South Africa,a? said Gumede.
Mutizwa, a 2015 Soccer Star of the Year second runner up, had a stellar performance in Bosso colours last season scoring the all-important goals. He finished as the leagueas top scorer with 14 goals.

At the time of his departure he leaves the black and white camp with four goals under his belt in 11 games.
